Searchlight

Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

Searchlight is an iPhone app that shows your Google Search Console data. It is made by Tom de Ruiter (the Netherlands), who is responsible for the app. In short: we don't collect any personal data. Your Search Console data goes directly from Google to your iPhone and stays there.

Google account data

When you connect a Google account, Searchlight asks Google for these permissions:

Searchlight requests this data directly from Google's servers on your iPhone. It is shown in the app and held in your iPhone's memory while you use it. The sign-in token that keeps you connected is stored in your iPhone's Keychain, on that device only. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else: we run no servers for the app and have no access to your data.

Disconnecting an account in Searchlight's Settings deletes its token from your iPhone and asks Google to revoke Searchlight's access. You can also revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Searchlight's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The data is used only to show it to you in the app; it is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to others and not used to train AI models.

Site icons

To show a property's icon, the app loads its favicon from Google's favicon service (www.google.com/s2/favicons). That request includes the property's domain name.

Purchases

Searchlight Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we don't receive your payment details. The app checks your purchases with Apple on your device.

Analytics and tracking

None. Searchlight contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no third-party SDKs. If you choose to share crash reports with developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share anonymous crash data with us.

Children

Searchlight is a tool for website owners and isn't directed at children.

Your rights and contact

Because we don't hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete; removing the app or disconnecting your account removes everything Searchlight stored. Questions: hi@tomderuiter.com. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
